Negative Pockets, 2024
In curated exhibition by Fort Heart at Forty Five Downstairs, Melbourne Oct 2024.
Materials: Collage (watercolour, ink , paper, plastic, metal, fabric, ribbon, thread)
Size: 55cm x 85cm
About: I have used various materials, including paper, plastic, ribbon, fabric, and eyelets, to create a collage. I aimed to repurpose salvaged and found materials from unfinished artwork, concepts and collected materials over the years. The collage process incorporates sustainability into my art practice. It’s an intuitive process in all aspects of my creative work. This artwork is inspired by various historical artworks, studying figures, shapes, and silhouettes. I have cut out and arranged the chosen materials to convey otherworldly, unsettling atmospheres to create meaningful connections between the past and present.
